Yes, I know it's misspelled. But I'm glad you noticed because that's the point!
We spend a great amount of time in school seeking higher education and at the very least, to not appear to be totally ignorant.
However, in this day and age, it seems that it is becoming more and more obvious that many students were either asleep or high during school. I say this because, although quite a few found out how to make their way onto social media, some truly mystify me as to how they graduated from any level of education. And not to totally slight the person who didn't go far in school because there are people who went 'all the way' and are totally classless when it comes to making a point and can't spell to save their lives.
Now, who am I to judge? It's not like I haven't had issues myself. I mean...when is the right time to use whose vs. who's? Does anyone ever really know that. Ok, sure they do, but still. It's a pain. But if you are going to go so far as to call someone an idiot or brainless in a comment, please take the time, during this heated exchange to know the difference between, "Your an idiot" and "You're an idiot." Because spelling counts and because one makes you the bigger idiot.
As a bonus, you have a huge, world-wide thesaurus, dictionary, encyclopedia, and grammarical tool right at your fingertips. Open a new tab and explore your options.
But back to name calling. Now we shouldn't be name calling at all. Is it really necessary to throw labels and names around in order to make our points? Not really. But sometimes people feel that it somehow adds that additional sticking point that they need in order to convey their message. Hint...you really don't need it and the moment it leaves your finger tips and you hit "post," chances are, the person you are talking to practically goes blind when their eyes roll to the back of their head when they see an "idiot," or some other label. Just state your point. This isn't 5th grade (although it's sometimes hard to tell from the spelling).
I always try to reread my posts whenever possible before hitting the send button. Sometimes it keeps me from saying something too harsh OR gives me time to refine my harshness with just the right spin to get my point across...still while not degrading another person by calling them names. Take the higher ground. Believe me when I say that if you can ram your point home without name calling...you win. No question about it.
So make sure "your" idiot is not yourself.
